The Grandview Craft Beer Alliance (“GCBA”) was born in 2013 as three beer lovers came together to share their passion for craft beer and local entrepreneurship. We had a strong desire to bring refreshing, new events to the beer scene and find ways to help the craft beer industry thrive. We created our non-profit organization to unify and promote the breweries and supporting businesses in the Grandview Heights area and throughout all of central Ohio. Our goal was simple but ambitious: We wanted to help make central Ohio a destination for craft beer fans both in and outside of Ohio.
Since we organized in 2013, we have created two signature events, The High Gravity Hullabaloo and The Summer Session, with the purpose of showcasing our local craft breweries. Our events were developed for breweries and hardcore craft beer fans, and both events have sold out each year and have been considered a success by the breweries and vendors who have participated. We don’t make money on our beer events, and we put our lives on hold just so we can see the craft beer community come together.
In addition to our two signature events and helping organize smaller events throughout the year, the GCBA has been instrumental in developing the local craft beer network by connecting breweries with sales contacts and service providers. Our goal is to create new opportunities for growth through craft beer connections. The GCBA has also been utilized to assist in the marketing of the region to national and international breweries considering locating to the central Ohio region–with some pretty exciting success, we might add.

Over the last two years, the Columbus craft beer scene has exploded with new breweries opening monthly and existing breweries expanding their footprint. Local breweries are distributing well beyond central Ohio. Columbus is on the craft beer map.
Based upon the success and growth of the local craft beer scene, as well as our own success in creating connections and organizing events created specifically for breweries and true craft beer fans, we’ve reevaluated our mission.
To broaden our scope and be a more inclusive organization, we have become the Columbus Craft Beer Alliance (“CCBA”). The CCBA will continue the mission of unifying and promoting local breweries and related businesses, but with a larger scope and a greater reach.
Our evolution and expanded focus is the result of a local craft beer industry that continues to grow and change at a rapid pace. We hope that our efforts have contributed to an environment that continues to support great local craft beer.
